Welcome Sam! You are first going to want to choose a build that you want for your workshop. We have over 1000 so it can get a bit overwhelming. Start with the OpenBuilds category of machines as they all include full parts lists and How-To Videos. Lots of great insight can be found on the Discussion tab within each build. All the best to you! Mary

Mary, I've already decided what I want to build the mini milling machine. I would like to purchase everything at once that I need is there someplace I could find a list? Sam
Hi @Sam277, welcome to the forum. If you mean the mini mill it's available as a kit from the openbuilds parts store. Alex.
Hi Sam, Here's the product page for the mini mill: OpenBuilds MiniMill On there you will have the base kit and then options to add motors, controller, router, etc. The forum thread for the mini mill is here: OpenBuilds MiniMill
Thank you for answering me Alex. Due to being disabled I realize that I'm going to have to get somebody to assist me with ordering these items. Reading the forums extensively is not a option to me at this time.Thank you for your assistance
Welcome Sam...lot of helpful people here! Let us know your questions and concerns and we'll try to help!
Joe, it's software related problem. I own several manual milling machines so I understand the principals..I'm a old school guy..

You have already been pointed to the Openbuilds software which is a great place to start but no-one has asked 2 vital questions, can you see well enough to use graphic software, and can you use a mouse or trackball? (a touchpad for CAD will drive you crazy!) An alternative (but still within the Openbuilds stable) is Sketchup with the SketchUcam plugin. Sketchup is very easy to use for 2D drawing and SketchUcam is equally easy.
That's exactly my problem I have limited vision I'm unable to use a standard mouse and keyboard I have a highly modified system that allows me view what's showing on an oversized screen. .
There must be somebody out there with the same issues and hopefully they were able to overcome the issues I'm having Thanks again for all the informative information.
Hi @Sam277, does what you use as a pointing device react with software in the same way as a mouse does? Can you let us have any details of the system you use? Alex.
Yes it does it looks like a joy stick through a control box via Bluetooth.. same as key board it's on a oversize tablet touch screen.
Sketchup it is then. I say this because you can adjust the line thickness for all lines (under the styles menu) so that all lines are more than 1 pixel wide.
Thanks I haven't had much luck with the videos... Do you know anybody specific? I've tried several why do people feel the need to play music on there videos?
Probably they are scared to talk. I do feel, a tutorial video without words is like an egg timer without sand.
plenty of tutorials for Sketchup on youtube, and I gave the link to my tutorials for SketchUcam for generating the Gcode
Thanks for sending me the information. Another question if I want to make someone else project how do I go about that?
Hi I attempted to use sketchup like you suggested I had some issues with my system. I reached out to the gentleman that designed my system he is working on it right now remotely. Thanks again
