Can I get a different thread pitch for OpenBuilds part?

    Hi,

I'm interested in using a Nut Block for 8mm Metric Acme Lead Screw to mount a M8 threaded McMaster caster to the end of a 20 x 40 V-Rail. Unfortunately, the caster has 1.25mm pitch.

I'm assuming you make the nut blocks in-house? Could I get a custom order with a 1.25mm pitch (rather than 2.0)?

    Thanks

Unfortunately our nut blocks are only TR8*2 2mm pitch 4 start 8mm ACME screws. You would either have to make an M8 one yourself. Or consider using the correct screws

Then, could I get it with just the M8 thread hole (no tap)? McMaster does not offer the same part with different thread pitch.

    All stock is prethreaded.

I need 90º connection. See design (PW OpenBuilds). If I could get the part custom order with no tap? I would really simplify things.

Unlikely to happen, time to think of alternative ideas. We have Corner brackets Black Angle Corner Connector too. Drill and tap them as needed?

Your need is such a basic part, some Delrin bar stock, and three drilling operations on a drill press will do to.

Buy the part, drill out the hole, use an M8 nut on top?

Or just have someone machine it. I do job shop work, a few others around here do too. Should only cost what, maybe $25 to have the same thing made in aluminum, a little more in steel? For a one-off part, that's not a huge deal. Vs having a manufacturer make a custom part, where you're probably looking at $150, maybe a lot more, in CAD/CAM and machine offline time.

Basically looks like these two little two-hole 90 degree V-Slot bracket blocks I made a while back. Easy stuff.
