Hi, I have just aquired a 15W laser unit which I hope to use with my Mini Mill. I am using Openbuilds Black Box controller and Openbuilds control firmware. There is a socket on the Black Box but other than that, I have no idea how to connect the plug to the module as there were no instructions supplied and I am unable to find anything on the internet. I have included pictures showing the connections on the laser control board. Laser 1.jpg Laser 2.jpg

PWM/TTL pin+GND goes to PWM/GND on the toolhead plug
Power is supplied to laser independantly of the BlackBox (usually those come with their own 12v PSU)

OpenBuilds BlackBox 4X Documentation is quite similar just except 3 wires, you have 2x2 pin wires it seems (shared gnd not needed, each has own gnd)

Many thanks, there is a 2.5mm mini jack connected to the 3 pin jst plug, along with a single wire (red in picture), so I am guessing the 2 pin jst is connected to the Black box. However, there is no ground on the 2 pin jst socket, it is just labelled PWM/TTL + and -. I have no idea what the red wire is for.... 20191002_154830.jpg

Not sure of the red wire either. Seller may be able to advise

    Pwm+ would be PWM
    Pwm- would be GND

What type of plugs are used on the Black Box? I thought there were spares with the kit but after searching high and low I cannot find them. I will have to buy one for the laser but have no clue what to ask for...

Many thanks, I did remove them when I assembled the case, and I put the unused ones somewhere 'safe'. A bit too safe!

Don't worry. You will find them as soon as any replacements you ordered arrive. That is how I usually find things.
