Hey y’all. I have attached a video of what my machine is currently doing. I have NO idea what it could be. It seems the Y1 axis is getting stuck? I am running a workbee 1010 with black box and the high torque motors. Any help would be great! It’s very frustrating not being able to figure it out!
Might also be worth noting that sometimes it does it.. sometimes it doesn’t. And it doesnt happen throughout the entire project.
Things to check 1) Current properly adjusted: OpenBuilds BlackBox 4X Documentation 2) Check wiring, there may be an intermittent loose connection that looses connection sometimes and then reconnects if it moves a little more 3) Check for mechanical binding issues
Hello, Was wondering if the issue has been resolved. I have the Lead CNC 1515 and am wondering if I am facing the same issue. What I notice: Gantry pulls skew during the production run. It looks like a Y axis either gets stuck or misses steps causing it to lag behind the other pulling the gantry skew. This does not happen at the same time of the production run i.e. not at the same line of gcode. However, it does seem to happen only when the gantry quickly jogs in the Y axis to a new position i.e. it is not cutting material at that time but quickly moves to a new location. Square Frame: Yes the frame is square and I notice nothing going our of square when I manually move along the Y axis. Controller: DDCS 3.1 Could it be that I am missing steps or is it rather a mechanical issue with the lead screw itself i.e. it gets pinched somehow preventing it to move and then suddenly gets released? Mechanically I have found no issue yet and the gantry does move as intended when I manually move it in the y Axis. Will reducing the jogging speed mentioned possibly prevent this? Any help will be appreciated.
Despite the different controller, probably still either: 1) loose setscrews on a shaft coupler / other mechanical issue or assembly error Or 2) wiring with intermittent fault - recheck all joints
Hi, had to swop out controllers so when I have it up and running again, I'll check the hardware and settings. Thanks
Hi, swopped out the controller and have not had an issue like this yet. From what I can see the motor current dropped and this may be due to a bad connection on my side. Thanks
