Hi, Maybe a stupid question, but how on earth do I update the web interface on my Duet with my Ooznest Workbe? I've downloaded every file and done everytning that's stated in the manual, but still no luck. Would be magic to get some millin' done in these isolated times. Thanks all!
You didn't say, but I assume you are updating to version 7, and that you have followed the instructions and loaded the system settings for your machine to the Duet controller, and that you now can't see the new User Interface. If that is the case you have missed the step in the attached pic - the user interface update is a separate step. Using the Duet Web Control upload that zip file - you don't need to unzip it first. Alex.
Hi Alex, Thanks so much! I'll look into this straight away. I really thought I did this, but I must've missed it somehow. I'll try! Thanks!
Worked like a charm! Wonderful! Now, can I connect to my Workbee from my iMac that I have in my shop? Everything is working fine with my Windows laptop, but I guess a chrome window on an iMac will work just as good? Thanks again!
Perfect, that's great news! Any clues where I can find a way to set that up on the mac? I'm trying to change the Ethernet settings to the same as on the Windows machine, but no luck. Many thanks! // martin
You did make a note of the IP address you set for the Duet? If not I'll try to remember how to find it (it's a long time since I did it). If you type that address into your browser it should find the Duet Web Control - bookmark it. Alex.
I did, and I copied it exactly from my Windows computer but still no connection. I followed Ryan Locks' guide on YT and it worked just fine on my Windows machine, but not on the mac. Thanks!
Not sure what the problem is @Handlebar , but once you have set up the Duet any browser can access it if you type the address into it. The Duet Web Control is just a web page like any other. Do you have the Ethernet or WiFi version of the Duet. Alex.
Thank you Alex for taking the time to reply! The problem is this: WINDOWS: 192.168.2.14 -> Workes fine! MAC OSX: 192.168.2.14 -> Doesn't work. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, probably it's just something super simple. Thanks for helping a noob out! Warm regards! /martin
You didn't say what version of the Duet you have, but people with the WiFi version are controlling their Duet with all sorts of devices. How is your Mac connected to you lan? Alex.
Ah, sorry about that. I've got the Duet 2 Ethernet version directly connected to my computer with an ethernet cable. Just like you say it seems to be quite an easy task, so I guess it's me. Thanks!
Yes, at least I think I did. I set it to "Manual" and copied the IP. Though, I'm not sure if the "Router" field is the same as Gateway. Cheers!
Which IP. Make sure you didnt set the Duet and Mac to have the same IP. Each has its own, same subnet
