Cannot get the openbuilds CAM software to cut in the right direction. Doing some tool tray in foam and it needs to be cut in conventional in order to get the desired edge on the pocket. There is no rhyme or reason to the direction of the cut. Some of the tools cut in climb and some conventional.

    Use a different CAM?
Fusion360, EstlCAM, SketchuCAM, many more options.

Completely new to CNC and took me a long time to figure out openbuildsCAM.. been recently trying to figure out fusion360, with not a whole lot of success but I’ll keep at it. Was hoping be a work-around to get it to cut in the direction because it’s literally the only hurdle I need to get past to get the finish product I’m looking for. I’ve put so much time into learning openbuilds software because I have a openbuilds cnc just figured it was the best route to learn on but if I need to switch to another CAM I will have to figure it out.

Estlcam is easy to use, but sometimes. Far easier than Fusion 360 if you are just doing simple 2.5 D work. You can choose climb vs conventional when you set up your controller. There is a free version that is identical to the paid, but it may be "slowed" down a bit. But if you like it, it is well worth the money ($59). Estlcam: 2D / 3D CAM und CNC Steuerung...

If you have Estlcam questions, there are a few of us on here that use it so ask away. If I do not know the answer, I will help you find it because it helps me learn more about it as well. I use it all the time, but for simple projects. I have yet to try trichoidal milling, or some of the other more advanced stuff.

Are you referring to OpenbuildsCONTROL? V1.0.234 is what you should be on OpenBuilds/OpenBuilds-CONTROL

My Bad, thought I was updated but I wasn't, I seen in the change log the pause problem should be corrected. also seen that there was updates to correct cutting direction. Just checked it out and it is corrected for path inside and path outside, it cuts in the selected climb or conventional direction. But no offset and pocket are still the same as before, only cutting in Climb direction. I've attached a couple files which are simple circles to show.
