Hi all, I'm looking to build a CoreXY, and really thinking of going with the LayerFused X301 design with its 300x300 heated bed. I've found a great deal on new stepper motors locally that are rated 40Ncm minimum - are those enough to support that bed using 8mm lead screws, 2mm pitch, single start? Thanks! Jack
Heh. That's what I suspected, but you never know. 141oz-in to the Nm, which puts your 0.4Nm around 60oz-in, which is right in the middle of the higher-end pack when it comes to NEMA 17s. Should do any normal sized print bed stage just fine, especially with true 2mm screws and not the standard 4-starts. If in doubt, you can Google "online leadscrew force calculator" and plug in the numbers to make sure- I'm sure it's tens of pounds of force though.
Thanks Rob! I'll definitely look into the force calculator, but I figured it was really close to the 45 Ncm I've seen all over Amazon and that it was probably close enough. I just wanted some actual knowledge instead of my own assumptions! Thanks again, Jack
