Hi, I don't want to blow up my shiny new Workbee, so I'm asking what might be an obvious question before I do. I understand that the light ring is 24v, and can be connected directly to the power supply. But which wire is +ve and which is -ve? Or doesn't it matter?
Hi, It came with a wire. Two strands. Which strand gets connected to which terminal on the power supply? I've watched the video of how to wire up the LED ring, but it glosses over this detail.
To elaborate: The LED ring has a green plug on it, with two screw-in connectors. One wire goes into each. After traversing the mysteries of the cable management system they come out at the power supply. So - two wires. Where does each get connected? From the look of it, one goes to a positive terminal, and the other to a negative terminal. But I can't see which one is connected to which. Does it matter if I get it wrong? Or will I see magic smoke if I do?
Does one strand have any markings on it? Usually, one strand will have writing on it and this helps the user to not cross them over. If one strand red is red and the other black, the standard is red goes to + and black goes to -. As long as you can keep them straight, it shouldn't matter. Just be sure that the + on the LED ring is connected to the + on the 24V power supply. LED lights are polarity sensitive.
Hi, OK - is there any way of determining what the polarity of the LED ring plug is? I don't see any markings? It seems to be a regular two-pin plug.
I've just dismantled the ring, and I can see the inscription of +ve and -ve on the ring itself. Problem solved. Thank you.
