I'm thinking I'd like to build a shelf. Maybe some other bracketry for my workshop. How would you recommend attaching the V-SLot to the wall? L bracket underneath? Maybe screw/lag bolts through a hole drilled in the V-Slot. Of course it may depend on weight. I'd love to see a few examples so I can work up a few ideas for my workshop and lab space. Thank you.
I think it looks cool. I've got an idea to 3D printer some different attachments. One application I have was to possibly use V-Slot like one would use Unistrut. I've got some home piping and mechanical items that I need to support on the wall and again, I was thinking if V-Slot would be a candidate.
I'd go Unistrut over V-Slot for mechanical mounting any day. Not that I think V-Slot couldn't take it (within reason), I just don't think it's worth taking the risk.
You've pretty much answered your own questions. Yes, it all comes down to weight and appearance. For shop use I wouldn't hesitate to drill through the extrusion and run a bolt into the wall. With a properly matched washer it'll look like it belongs. For interior use blind screws would be more appropriate. But this will be strictly limited to lighter loads.
