    Hello,

I have 2 wires already threaded through for the limit switches, but I I'd like to purchase the XTension limit switches. Can these be used with only two wires?

Also, I have an protoneer board for the raspberry pi, so I'm not even sure where I'd wire the sig cable to.

    Thanks,

    Matt

I do not see why they could't be used with two wires. But do so at your own risk. You connect the signal (SIG) wire and the ground (GND), Do NOT connect the 5V or you will potentially ruin your board. Wire them like 2 wire. Read the warning here: docs:blackbox:connect-micro-limit [OpenBuilds Documentation]
Here is the info on your controller.

Thank you! If I did run a third wire, where on that board with the 5V wire connect to on that board?

I do not know. I have never seen one of those boards in person. Most likely on a 5v power pin.

I run mine with two wires because I'm to lazy to rewire. :)

Isn't there a LED on the switch board that indicate the switch was triggered? If it does, I think that's why the 3 wire system, to power the LED.

Troubleshooting LED, Signal Pullup and RC EMI filter. You lose all those with the 2 wire config.

Can the xtension limit kit be used on the older openbuild sparc board xpro v2? It only had a 2 wire connector on the board for each axis. So I would be afraid of losing some features. Not really wanting to buy a black box and replace my board for just limit switches with rf.

It can be done, but you would loose features with only the two wire connection.

If you can find a 5v output pin to provide power to the Switches you can use that to power them
There should be a 5v output somewhere on your board.
