Hello i use easel as cam and it imports gcod into openbuilds in easel, this project takes almost 2 hours and imported gecode into openbuilds 3 hours what is it? please help
Both are estimates. Real world runtime will also be another different figure. All depends on machine acceleration etc causing variance
OK, got it, thank you And does this sculpture last that long, is it normal? 900/450mm plywood 3mm thick? How long does normal take? Do other large-scale sculptures of this type last so long?
Judging by the first few lines of your Gcode your feed rate is only 800mm/min (F800) and plunge rate is only 228.6mm/min F228.6). I cut aluminum faster than that. If this is on wood, and if you are using any of the OpenBuilds machines, you should be able to cut at about 2500mm/min. You are also only cutting 1mm deep per pass. I could not tell what size of endmill you were using because it is not in the Gcode header but if using a 1/4" (6.35mm) endmill you should be able to easily cut 3mm deep per pass. If it is a lot smaller, than you may only be able to safely cut 1mm per pass. You are getting long cut time estimates because you are cutting so slow (F800) and taking shallow passes (z-1.000). When I edited your Gcode and replaced all F800s with F2500 and all F286.6 with F1000, the online simulator I use said it would take 40 minutes and 5 seconds. But as Peter said above, your acceleration settings will affect the accuracy of these estimates.
many thanks for the replies I have x-carve based cnc with 6mm stripes so this speed will probably be too fast
Try a small project at 1500mm/min. I bet it will do just fine. Then speed it up a little more until you find its limit.
