Can the XYZ probe be plugged in hot or no?
Both times I have plugged the XYZ probe in my machine manual jog will be locked to 4.33mm. Doesn't matter if I select 0.1, 1, 10, or 100mm the machine only moves 4.33mm I have to completely shut down the machine for about 3 min to get it back to normal. I'm thinking plugging in the probe while the machine is on is a no-no.

Is there a place to adjust the probe depth? After using it, at Z0 the cutter is about 0.1mm (or maybe 0.05mm) too deep.

in the probe wizard pop up, change the probe type by clicking on it. From there you can change the thickness (offset)

    Are your Z steps/mm off a little?

I'll have to do more testing to be sure. The Z steps seem to be ok. The material is 25.4mm and it cuts through with barly a mark on the waste board. However that is when I set the z manually. Both times I used the probe the Z0 is slightly into the material instead of on the surface. I'll get a chance to test more this weekend.

    Thanks.

Be sure to measure your probe plate. Should be 9mm but mine was slightly bigger than that. If I remember correctly its 9.4mm which is why I use the custom probe settings.

Well plugging in the XYZ probe hot isn't the issue. Today I plugged it in before starting up the machine. Everything was fine until I ran the Z-Probe wizard. After that my manual jog was again locked to 4.33mm as before. Restarting the machine doesn't clear it, restarting OBcontrol doesn't clear it. I must reboot my computer and the machine to get it back to normal. odd.

Also, my XYZ probe measure 9.04mm. 0.04 is about how far the bit digs into the material at Z0. I can deal with that, but the jog locking to 4.33mm makes the probe unusable.

    Open to any suggestions.

OK, I found what is going on. When starting the prob wizard the jog automatically switches from Incremental jog to continuous jog. So not realizing this I was expecting the jog to move the set amount with each click. So a single click obviously didn't move it very far. I knew that setting was there, just didn't realize it switched.

Seems the Auto-Update today corrected this,
    • v1.0.268: Fixed cosmetic layout css issue
    • v1.0.267: Fixed probe complete dialog, added 1% laser focus power, restore incremental if it was set prior to probe, added 3rd decimal for Inch mode DRO / padding to 2 decimals for mm mode, added Machine Coordinates to DRO tooltip, Handle M0 Pauses (Carbide etc)
    Now that's service!!! :)
