Hello group! Wondering if anyone is experiencing this issue? I set g28 once and it never changes, however g30 changes every time i power on the Blackbox controller or get an update. any help appreciated, Thanks and Happy New year to all ( good riddance to 2020)
I just did a successful test moved to a position gave G30.1 command to store the position gave $# to see the stored offsets, correct moved and then gave G30 to return to the correct place hit reset on the Arduino, offsets retained pulled the USB cable out to power cycle, position retained so, what exact process are you following to get a problem? what GUI, what GRBL version (mine is 1.1h custom compile) also tested Blackbox v2.3 with GRBL 1.1f, no problem retaining G30 offsets
Hi. Happy new year. I come into my shop turn on computer and controller home machine then g28 run a job. When finished g30 to get access to finished work. G30 starts moving in the opposite direction and continues till it crashes. Reset g30.1 where I want it and repeat the same the process after next power cycle. Connect and reconnect does not reproduce the issue, nor does remove and replace the USB cable. my process now includes resetting g30 pos prior to running first job of the day a pain but not the end of the world. thanks for the reply.
Just curious, does it only do it after a job? In other words, if you were to turn on computer and controller, home, then g30, does it go to the correct spot? What software? OB Control?
Good question. Checking that now. Yes it did go to correct spot after home. What’s your suspicion? Going to be sure to observe when it does and does not go to correct spot Thanks
Hmmm... I'd like to see a $# realtime request dump immediately before and after a job. Can you air-cut a short job (like, less than 2 minutes long) and $# before and after? Not sure what that necessarily tells us broadly, but if it's correct both times then it must be something constrained to within the job cycle itself. If it's different after the job, that's pretty interesting. (Unless it's specific to a certain job file, of course... Have you find-&-replaced in the file for any unwanted G30/30.1s?)
What rob said is where I was going with that. The fact that its remembered before running a job takes any issue with settings corruption on the blackbox out of the equation and points towards your gcode. What software? Important because if its not Control, then maybe its adding some end of job commands.
Just wanted to update you, issue seems to have resolved. I didn’t change anything, however there have been updates since then. Don’t know if that had anything to do with resolving. Thanks to everyone who stepped up to help.
I'll keep trying to track this down. I'm not doing anything differently. Probably user error. If i discover the reason I will post it here. Just wanna say that I am totally happy with OB control and blackbox. The single best improvement to my CNC experience. it frees me to run jobs with confidence. Thanks again
