messing with the current and speed I got it sounding much better....
the last thing I have to get right is the feed speed when cutting. getting close, y doesn't loose steps but x does when cutting 3/4" mdf with a 1/4" bit.

Well I hope you all had a wonderful new years.
I'm stoked, I got it 2" square with a 1" hole no lost steps!!!!
    I ended up with 1/32" multi-pass depth 30"/min feed and 70"/min plunge 1/4" 2 flute bit 3/4" mdf.
This cnc stuff is a steep learning curve but if I can figure it out anyone can!!! LOL

Hi snokid, you still feel that it would be better to order your own parts? I am close to ordering a Zeus kit, or to start ordering my parts from openbuilds as they become available. I think the Sparks guy/guys are swamped. Takes a while to get answers from them. I worry that I will end up with a bunch of parts and not know what to do with them. Electronics that is. The mechanical stuff no problem.

First thing I checked was the nema 23's, and they are out of stock. NOt a good start. I was planing on using that spread sheet someone here made as my BOM.

it depends if they aren't too backed up the kit is a good deal.
all I had to buy was a router bit and a spoiler board.
I did end up getting a 24v power supply but really not sure if it's totally necessary. I cut aluminum the other day and I was cutting at 10imp that's pretty slow.

if you buy the parts when I checked it was less than a 100.00 difference. 1 order no mess no fuss.

Thanks snokid, looks like they are backed up a few weeks again. Hard for me to find nema 23's in stock.

I got the same board. Will you post a pic on how you mounted it? Did you put it in a plastic box with a fan or anything like that? Thanks.

No box, just a plexi glass plate I cut on the machine. No fans, but I did put heat sinks on the drivers.... I didn't have the heat sinks till just the other day though...
I do like the cncxpro but I'm changing it out for a raspberry PI cnc board as soon as the one with 4 drivers is out...
The only reason is I'm adding a PI board to my c-beam machine and want the same thing on both machines...
I looked I don't have the sketchup file for the xpro anymore.
