    Hi guys, totally new on this forum and with cnc!

    My workbee is due to arrive sometime next week, but am jet to get a spindle for it. I'm in doubt between the AMB 1050 FME-P and the Mafell FM 1000 PV ER. Both are pretty much the same, but the biggest advantage of the mafell is that is has 0-10v integrated speedcontrol in addition to the manual speedcontrol.

    I've searched to see if/how I can install this on the workbee with the duet2 controller board. But as of jet have not found any information regarding this type of spindle with the workbee, only about a spindle with vfd.

    Do anyone of you know if this is possible?

    Try this link;

    Connect a AMB Kress or Mafell spindle with digital control

    EDIT; I see @Foxwood posted the same link - sorry, didn't recognise it at first.

    Alex.

    I have the AMB with digital control... use the link above and look at step 3, that is all you should need to get it up and running.

    Sorry guys, thank you for your input. I wasnt able to get arround to it up untill now :s
    Your input is greatly appreciated nevertheless.

    I finished the built and installed the spindle with speedcontrol. Everything went well up untill I installed the PWM. As for some reason the power supply and PWM input are good, jet it doesnt give any output :s

    So it has left me wondering if i have a DOA pwm board (expect so, and awaiting feedback from the seller) or I did something wrong. Input is greatly appreciated!

    If you have a voltmeter, measure the DC output voltage of the PWM board without the spindle attached. Set your speed to 50% and the output voltage should be 5v, at 100% 10v. I am guessing your pwm has a pot on it so you can adjust the output. make sure it sits at 10v when at 100% spindle speed.

    @JovP did you definitely do step 4 of the guide we linked to? Ground of pwm module to ground of the Duet's power supply?

    Hi Alex, yes I did.

    It turned out I had a DOA pwm board, I replaced it a couple of days ago and everything worked like it was supposed to!

    @Ijvb That wasn’t necessary. But I did add some some additional speed settings. As the standard duet settings had the max rpm output at 10K rpm, so less then half the max of my routers capacity.
