Hi all, I am having a strange issue with the black box controller that I hope you can help me with. I got all through the electrical setup and everything tested out great. Jogged the machine all over the place, manually tested the limit switches. Used the Home button to automatically home it. All good. The problem I am having is when I click ANY of the Set Zero buttons the GRBL disconnects. I then have to completely remove power, unplug the USB, wait a few seconds and power back on in order to get reconnected to the Black Box. I have tried this with both the Software/USB connection and with the Interface. Both with all connections plugged in and with only the USB and Power or SERIAL and power. No matter what I do, as soon as I hit Zero X,Y,or Z the GRBL disconnects. I am attaching photos of the board and the wire ends. Please note the board photo I reset it back to factory settings just to test(undid the Controller jumpers) One thing I do notice that probably doesn't matter is the Outer board says 2.7 and the inner board says 2.1?
Havent heard of that one yet. The difference in board numbers isnt a concern. They are the version of the actual board and not of the blackbox as a whole. Anyhow, Peter will be back online in a few hours and will be able to assist with this.
Talk to http://support.openbuilds.com/support/home please, agreed, haven't seen that before yet, maybe add a video to the store contact, would be helpful
Oh, before you do, send a $RST=* command. SetZero stored offset to EEPROM and corrupted EEPROM could cause a reset. Clearing the EEPROM with $RST=* may help
Here is a quick video, had to be short due to the attachment size limit for the support ticket. I power it on with only the serial connection, press the jog buttons and they work, when I go to set zeros the GRBL goes to disconnected and I have to fully cycle power just to get back to being able to do anything. Also tried the $RST=* command a few times and it still does the exact same thing
Yes, the only difference is you can't tell that it disconnected. The USB LED just continuously blinks fast red and if you try any commands it just tells you to please wait until machine is idle in a red bar at the bottom.
I am happy to report that everything is working perfectly!!! Once again the support from OpenBuilds is second to NONE!
