    Hi all,

I recently purchased a k40 and everything is working great. My only issue is i could really do with a larger working area. I've seen a few builds where they upgrade all sorts of things but I wanted to know the simplest way. I'm happy with the existing controller and everything else, i just want to increase the cutting area.

Am I right in thinking I can just move all the electronics to an external case and just change out the rails to bigger ones while leaving everything else the same?

    Cheers.

It seems to get to step 12 and then end, is it continued anywhere?

See it more as inspiration, than a step by step guide, but @Ariel Yahni might have more details - been a while back

Thanks, I think I understand it now. Not sure about the electrics though, if I keep the existing controller will I have to do anything to make it understand the new size or can it just stay the same?

If you are using the original K40 controller -- and this comes from a K40 whisperer fan -- check out MeerK40t. It has a lot of customization features that people really like. I have not played with it much yet, but the guys writing the code are really into it and are constantly improving it. Facebook group that is helpful.

I am doing the same as you. I just haven't figured out how yet. I was thinking of modifying an Acro frame in a housing using the plates from the UB40OB build referenced above. I printed out all the parts from this build (it used to be listed here, but I think the author removed it). However, I am leaning towards abandoning that method and going with the cut acrylic plates.
