    Hey all,

I have an elksmaker A3 from a long time ago but I really like how the ortur laser pro frame is set up.

I see having a linked/coupled y axis discussed here frequently when regards to CO2 lasers due to flying optics but I haven't seen any kind of "standard" way to go about doing it.

I searched Thingiverse and here but haven't found anything that quite fits what I'm looking for....a linked y-axis and no x motor on the toolhead.

    Any ideas?

This is for a CO2 laser (K40) but it should work just fine for a diode. K40 12x24in rebuild (In Original Case) I am currently using a lot of his parts and Ideas to redo my K40. I am tying the two Y axis sides together with a 5/16 inch (7.9375mm) aluminum tube tube I got from a local Ace Hardware. Here is the Thingiverse link K40 Rebuild in Original Enclosure (12x24in Cut Area) by Hawking.

This build also is an example of how to mount the X axis stepper off the tool head. UK40OB

You could easily adapt the X axis motor mounts from either of these builds for a diode laser.
