Hello, I like my workbee 1500mm x 1500mm but as I have a small workshop I really would like to find a solution to lowerdown the storage size. For the moment I have a big torsion box and I have put this torsion box on a table with wheels. So basically I see 3 solutions: add a system of pulley to lift it but as the roof is quite low ~2.7m so I will still have my head in it it will be to low especillay because of the z axe. put my torsion box below my table but this is not very conforforable when I work with the cnc. Build a system of pulley to store it on a wall in a vertical position. For this solution couldn't it have an impact on the adjustments to store it in this position? Ideal situation would be to be able to use the table to also build a table saw bench and convert it easilly. Do you have an opinion or suggestions? Regards,
As long as the cnc is firmly attached to the torsion box you will not lose any adjustments. Your steps/mm are stored in your controller, so the only thing that could change is the squareness of the frame. Alex.
Consider putting pivot at the center of the table top and rolling the whole assembly upside down. Whatever you do though, be mindful of gravity and how it will affect the carriages when you turn an axis vertically. If there’s enough weight to overcome screw friction allowing the carriage to move, you could wind up spinning the lead screw and having the motor smoke your BlackBox.
Hello, Indeed I was thinking about such kind of solution as in the videos. I didn't plan to cut in the vertical position. My main concern is really about the wheels and the screws that could (or not if I understand what you said) going wrong if I let the machine for a long time in this position. Thank you for your input
