In the profile files for the various machines provided I see acceleration numbers ranging from about 100 - 350 mm/s^2. I am a bit surprised at how high these are. I am using the BlackBox with Nema23 high torque steppers and I can't get to 50 mm/s^2 without stalling. I am running them at 30 mm/s^2. Just wondering what the difference could be. I do use ballscrews which require 400 steps/mm whereas the leadscrews of the various OB machines require 200 steps/mm. I think this explains part of the difference because in my case the steppers have to turn twice as fast to get to the same mm/s speed, but that is just a factor 2.
That makes sense. Thanks for the explanation. Is there a way to change the microstepping to 1/4 or 1/2? In the docu I only see how to increase it to 1/16 and 1/32.
