I am using a laser to cut veneers for marquetry. They are .5mm thick. How can I minimize the charring on the edges? I am using a 5W laser with a metal honeycomb base. I typically cut a feed rate of 400 and power of 35% Should I run faster or slower? Multiple passes? Would an air stream be worth the effort? Thanks!
Yes for sure, it blows the off-gass and smoke out of the way letting you cut faster and with less diffusion of the light. Quick google search Cheers
I installed an air assist, but don't see any difference in the charring. Do you need a heavy duty air source? Mine is 15CL/Min
Everything I've seen shows a big improvement, would need to keep optimizing for best results with your system and material. Regards Gary
