Alright, I'm starting the journey lol. With the help of a buddy with a 3D printer I'm starting this build. Very excited to see this come together! I am curious am I better off going the magnet route or stick with the traxxas parts? As my first step into learning 3D printing can anyone suggest a hot end and extruder for this build? Thanks again.

Anyone have any spare parts printed they would sell at a reasonable price. I had a buddy of mine tell me he would print the parts for me (which is what prompted me to build in the first place, knowing I could save a few bucks). Well he wrote me last night after printing a few vertices and informed me they are all warped and probably unusable. I'm thinking he is printing abs so I asked of he could print pla (which after reading around here I see may be easier to get a solid print). I have yet to hear back from him but in worried in stuck with all the hardware and no plastic parts to begin the build. I saw someone posted somewhere they were offering parts up for free in exchange for paying it forward and printing for others. I would be totally for this and make sure it gets done. I'm purely building this for fun and learning with my kids (hoping to keep them away from video games and hopefully into electronics and tech). Thanks so much in advance.

I have printed a few sets for people. Pics of them are on this forum in earlier pages. You can star a private conversation if you like. I print these in ABS. You can ask Randy Baker if he likes them. My price for OB members is cheaper than if printed on 3d hubs, but I don't give them away.

Does anyone have SolidWorks, STEP, or IGES files of the printed parts they wouldn't mind sharing?

Or does anyone have a 3-wheeled, instead of 4-wheeled, carriage for this printer design?

If a plate is what your after, you could try the 20mm V plate (have to select 20mm) it allows for 4 or 3 wheel configurations.
    Hope this helps

thought id update you all on my build , ive been trying many designs of carriers and arnt many that use larger open wheels an eccentrics , this is one im planning on using after many trys the carrier gives best range of movement over first one I posted and also holds belt well

anybody have good source for 3/8 / 9.5mm steel balls as not happy with my current jb welded ones they work but planned to drill and tap these but became problematic

Nice work. I bought the balls pre-drilled and tapped. Took almost a month to get them, but the price was ok. I will dig up the resource.

    Hey,
I've been trying to build a CAD model (Solidworks) myself and run into some walls.
Would appriciate it greatly if some was can share any of the above formats if he can. I sort of need to build it in CAD before I can really commit and also it's a lot easier to check print volume, rod lengths etc. on a CAD model.

Another quick question, did anyone make a total build sum to go along with the BOM, was wondering how much did you guys come to...
    Thanks

Sorry about the double post but I thought I might contribute something instead of only asking :)

Attached is a link to a google spreadsheet that i've started working on to be a BOM and price list. Would be great if you guys could fill in some missing parts and obviously links to some good shopping places.
in order to keep things organized I think it would be best if people would add sheets to the file instead of overwriting

    Cheers.

I like the cool see-thru vertices!
But I think the top will need some reinforcement. I wouldn't put my filament spool up top!
Gonna use the new neutronium rods and ends?

hahaha, yeah yeah lol... I got three of my 6 vertices printed (just slow going - the guy printing them gets very little time on the machine so I am averaging about a part a week lol). I got my arms kit in last night and plan on gluing them up tonight. You guys just using some basic epoxy to glue in the screw into the carbon rod (jb weld)?

Does anyone know the equations to figure out the extrusion and the delta arm lengths? Like if I want to use a 310mm bed and have 254mm on my z, what size I should cut my extrusions and delta arms? I am a fairly good mathematician, so i'll take anything.

    Thanks!
