I have a red "!" on my Y1 axes. A reset seems to get rid of it, but wondering if something is going to burn out soon??? This started to happen shortly after increasing the current just a tiny bit via the trim pots. I might have rotated the POT maybe 1 to 2 degrees. Of course if I don't notice it when I start up, only one motor turns on the Y and now I have to re-square the machine. I looked in the manual (truthfully not that hard, so probably missed it) but didn't see any reference to this. Thanks EDIT: Oh and I also started using the IOT switching relay if that matters
UPDATE: Found the info in the manual. Motors are warm but no hot. I adjusted limits back down like they were - Red LED came on for the next 3 boots. 4th attempt the LED stayed off. I'm worried this will happen during a cut and Y2 axes will keep on driving and twist my fame so bad I will need to replace it. Anything I can check on the motor end?
It doesn't measure motor temp. Overcurrent heats up the drivers. But could be other factors too, see 2nd half of docs:blackbox-x32:currentadjustment [OpenBuilds Documentation]
Yeah I figured it didn't measure the temp on the motors, but if the motor is hot then the driver most likely is also. Might be a short, bad motor, or failing driver. Each time this has happened it is at start up, not after running the machine for a time. Once I get the fault to go away it seems to stay away until next time I turn on the machine.
check all motor connections, especially Y2, and by check I mean unplug, pull/wiggle the wire in the plug and physically make sure all is properly connected.
Yep, did all that. I think I tweaked the current limit up just a bit too much. I brought it back down and so far so good. It hasn't happened again - YET. so over the next week or so if it doesn't happen anymore I would say that's it. Thanks
