Hello to all openbuilds fans. I have an Opt Lasers PLH3D-6W-XF+ laser with a Lead 1010 and when burning letters, I see unevenness in the font. I am not a professional in creating projects (the graphic designer has finished cooperation and I have to handle everything myself) but I need to learn some things. I wanted to try my hand and wrote a simple text in MS Paint. The effect is in the picture. Is it worth taking, for example, Solid Works or FreeCAD instead of Microsoft's software and inserting letters there? Maybe it's a matter of setting up blackBox?
Looks more mechanical in nature. Check all wheels are properly adjusted, and that the shaft couplers on the leadscrews doesn't have setscrews that has gone loose
Thanks for the suggestion. I'd like to note that this only happens on letters. It's fine in the pictures.
take the K for example. the kink in the vertical edge on the left is where the Gcode starts and ends, it approaches from the left, starts, goes around, then finsihed having approached from the right. this points strongly to backlash in the X axis
I understand that I need to adjust the rollers that are behind the spindle? the spindle itself is on MGN 15
An area where you can get backlash is if the set screws on the flexible shaft couplers (from stepper motors to lead screw) are loose as Peter mentioned above. Your picture is of the opposite end that you need to check. I use locktite (the blue color) on my set screws so they do not loosen up over time.
