    Hi,

I would like to ask if anyone knows where it is possible to buy a harmonic drive for nema 23?
I checked websites like Alibaba, but majority of harmonic drives are not suitable for nema 23 and requires adapter plater or are super expensive (above 400-500 Dol).

If anyone has experience with servo motors of a size 23 and harmonic drives. It would be a great knowledge to know.

    Thank you.

You can drive a Harmonic Drive with whatever you like, but it's usually going to require an adapter plate (there are some motor shaft variants, but the output is usually still a bolt pattern flange) and it's always going to be expensive. These are high precision components produced in relatively low quantities. I was lucky and bought the two (used) CSG 32-80-2UH units I have at different times back when they were in the $280-350 range. Now they're easily double that, and don't seem as commonly available.

It is what it is, there's an entry fee to precision industrial equipment and you just have to decide whether it's worth it for you or not.
