I have Xtension Connector Sets. This morning, I heard grinding noises and I aborted the job. I checked the connectors and found out that wires or connectors may be loose. I think I need Wire Ferrules. Do I need them?
i do not know if you necessarily need them, I do not use them om my lathe, and have had no issues. That being said, I added them when i rebuilt my CNC Router recently. I do prefer them. They are easier to place and tighten and you know they are in the right depth.
Not "needed" but make sure to do your terminals properly: Wire inside (not underneath) the moving cage Wiring stripped to correct length (not pinching on insulation, and not exposing bare copper either Screws tightened properly Wire management to avoid strain, tight radius bends, and wire damage
The connectors are next to the motors and I used zip ties to secure them to motor standoffs and to keep them from coming apart.
