Portable self-contained Lead 1010 table

I have a two car garage NOT devoted to 3d printing or CNC. I have set aside a space for my 3d printer and a place to store my portable CNC table. The reason it’s portable is so that I wheel and can use my Lead 1010 outside where it won’t make a mess in the garage. The table is self contained. It houses a vac system as well as my CNC tools and supplies.

    Great table. I've been dreading the cost of building a table fully from plywood...at today's ridiculous lumber prices. 2x4's and MDF, great cost-effective idea.

    So...how do you like the LEAD 1010? Any challenges in the build process? Have you calibrated, trammed, etc.?

    Thanks for the kind words. Yeah, when I purchased the materials I was shocked by the prices. Fortunately, prices have begun to slowly drop. Other than building the LEAD 1010 and changing out the 250 mm extrusions on the Z axis and replacing them with 300 mm pieces, I haven’t done anything else to the machine. This will add 50 mm to my Z height. I am going to run a project today and carefully examine it to determine if adjustments will be necessary.

    Plans will vary based in the size of the table you want to build. 4’x4’ is the perfect size for the Lead 1010. Traditional table height is 36” the length of the 2x4 table legs is 36” minus the thickness of the table top and the height of the casters you choose to use.     Thanks for posting this, I liked it so much when i was looking at redoing my setup I made the same thing. Just instead of drawers made a place for my Acro Laser to sit.

    What feed do you have under the 1010 that's hold it off the table?

    Nice table by the way. I have the Opt Laser attached to the side of my router. Works great. Also just completed the High Z Mod. I will post pictures soon.

    Thanks for the link on the feet, those look like they’d work well.

    I’ve thought about just moving the laser to the 1010 and just have a single machine, but it’s handy to have both so can’t make myself do it. ;)

    Hi, very cool cnc! I love it! I'm gooing to build something similar. Can you tell me the size of the aluminium profile you used, and what type of aluminium it is?
