Can the USB module/circuit in the blackbox be replaced separately from the entire unit? Long story but was having trouble posting it all.
Long story short, I accidently hooked 120vac through a 24vdc contactor coil and it must have fed back through the tool output in the blackbox, after I hit M8 in control, it destroyed most of my USB ports on my motherboard. I replaced the PC motherboard but lost the ability to use the blackbox via USB. I also fried the USB capabilities of my Cricut venture that was also hooked up to the computer. Interestingly enough, the xTool D1 pro that was hooked up works fine...
Sadly not. You'd have to order a new BlackBox. Sorry about your mishap. If the damage popped all the through to the USB it fried everything along the way too not just the final USB chip. Microcontroller, voltage regulation, usb serial mux, usb chip all would be cooked by 120v Also. Tool output is a 3.3v logic signal. Can't run a contactor coil! Don't repeat this when you get the new one or you will damage another BlackBox.
Thanks for the response! I was mistaken, it was the coolant output, not tool, oops! Either way, it appears that something along the lines of wiring in my panel protected the box to some degree, because everything except the USB seems to work. I may still replace it soon, but for now I can at least get everything running. Oh it also fried that contactor lol, which caused the 24v power supply to fault out until disconnected and reset, so that may have been what saved the rest of the BB, not sure, either way I'm grateful that I saved the BB. Motherboard for my PC is cheaper than it, so not the end of the world.
