    Hello!

We have made great progress since our last question in the forums here: We are building a lighting fixture with a sliding platform, and we used this kit as a starting point: V-Slot® NEMA 23 Linear Actuator (Belt Driven) Bundle

We upgraded the belt, went for a different NEMA23 motor with brake, and we can reach some pretty quick speeds. Accuracy isn't that important, speed is.

Here comes the current problem: We went for a double wheeled platform (see the image/video attachements), and it seems the wheels are very tight. What happens in the video seems to be the wheels locking up, after which the platform halts, and the motor slips.

Does anyone have a good tip on how to improve this? Maybe go for just 4 wheels? Or a different rail system altogether? When moving the platform by hand (disconnected from the belt) it doesn't feel buttery smooth, we have put the wheels on the widest possible option (stock open builds parts).

    Thank in advance!

    Stan

Here's a similar double wheeled setup:

We really can’t see anything in your video. Please provide close up photos of the cart and your the track where it stops. The most obvious question though is do you have a spacer washer between the bearings?

We have an 9mm aluminium spacer, as seen in this video:

I can provide better pictures/videos later, but we have just used the stock openbuilds parts.

Noise sounds like you have Max Rate set too high (causing the stall), maybe acceleration a bit low took a while to ramp up
