Mark, in your opinion, is the BB-X32 a good fit for this machine? I saw the one build with the Laguna 4x4, which would be a similar build, but never got a response from the author. FYI, I do like the BB-X32 and it was a very good choice to get my Onefinity back running.
"I will be using Nema 23 motors" I see no reason why it would not work for your retro fit. The HT Nema 23 have plenty of power and on a screw driven machine its unstoppable.
I am gonna go this rout for the 1st one and see how I like it. At the same time start to put together a closed loop system for the second machine. The second machine has some issues with the X lead screw. I may also look into a ball screw installation vs another lead screw and anti-backlash nut. I am also exploring a rotating nut as an upgrade.
These are the switches currently on the machines ( Aleph PS-7711) . On at both ends of each axis. Can these be used with the BB X32?
I've done a retrofit on the same machine and decided to go for Nema 34 motors since in my opinion the machine could use the extra power. Nema 34 was really easy to fit.
