I mostly use my machine for machining expanded pvc, hdu and mdf, The default max travel speed is set at 138ipm, Anyone have any good recipes to speed it up without running into lead whip issue? thanks

Wow! You cut those materials at that speed? Maybe I am too timid. I only cut at that speed for 3D carves where I am only taking a 40% stepover. My default for wood is 120 ipm. I do not know what types of cuts you are doing, but one reason I have my max speed set at 5000mm/min is because I have increased my acceleration significantly. I do a lot of "small move" cuts so I shave a ton of time off by getting to that max cutting speed faster. If my max speed is higher, I stall the stepper motors due to the acceleration trying to get to that higher speed.

Have you tried going faster? My longest 8mm Lead screw on any of my machines is 1000mm, but I have had them up to 250ipm without whipping prior to the increase in acceleration rates. Mine are not under tension. They are the older lock collar design.
