    Hi!

I´ve got 4 JMC closed loop hybrid steppers 60J1887EC-10000-LS-31 im gonna use for my new CNC.
Looking at the Black Box X32 but it looks like the onboard steppers may have to struggle with them.
I´ve calculated the optimal voltage to 43V. What do you think, could it work?

    Holding Torque(N.m):3.0
    Current phase(A):5.0
    DC Resistance(Ohms): Ω ±10% 0.45
    Inductance/Phase(mH):mH±20% 1.8

If it doesn´t work to well i´ve got some drivers, 2HSS86H.
Can the Black Box X32 run the drivers in closed loop mode?

    Cheers
    JW

so what you need then is a controller WITHOUT drivers.
https://github.com/grblHAL/Controllers lists grblHAL supported controllers, some are bare microcontroller boards, some need daughterboards.
maybe a Mach3 BOB will suite?

not a case of struggling with the drivers, the BB drivers just cannot drive closed loop steppers, you need step and direction outputs for that.
no, BB has it's own drivers and the step/dir pins are not broken out so you cannot use external drivers.
Much better to use a controller designed for external drivers.
