Hi, with my new Acro Draw Bot i need a little help. Does anyone know the reason for these shaky curves at the top left of the screenshot? The problem only occurs at this point, because as you can see, the curves at the right are drawn cleanly. I used the speed from the demo file. ( F5000 ) It looks a little better if I reduce the speed to e.g. 2500, but then it still doesn't look really clean. Maybe someone can give me tips for the best machine settings or how to best deal with such problems?
looks like X is ringing, maybe something is loose (backlash) or the belt is just too loose? I set my belts to 12kg tension with a fishing spring balance, but I read recently that that is too much for the belts (on a 3D printer). so, maybe YMMV etc etc.
Sorry, I was able to tighten all three belts approx. 1cm further, but the result is still the same. What ist your maximum speed if you plot at a larger scale? ( something around A2 ) I am missing some documentation about (optimal) settings for this machine.
Speed itself shouldn't cause that, more likely something moving that shouldn't (check wheel adjustment, make sure everything is tight, no unwanted play, particularly with the carriage near the area thats troublesome)
It seem that there are no loose things, but i can fix the problem in a different way. I can also confirm that it is not due to the speed, because with the following solution I can increase the speed even further: The GCode was created from a SVG with the DrawingBot - Software. In the output settings there is a value for "curve flatness" which default value is "0.1". If you set this value e.g. to "0.01" the lines are looking absolutely accurate. Also the sound of the steppers is now very clear which was a bit strange sound before. It would be interesting to know what exactly led to the problem. So far I have only been able to detect it with this very large printout. As I understand it, only the lines have received significantly more coordinates. This of course means a more precise curve, but before there were only straight lines between the coordinates. So normally there was no reason for such a wobbly line. Ok, i think the best place to ask this question is the Drawing-Bot forum ...
