Hello I am looking for a bit of information on what mm post processor. Using vectric aspire rotary wrapping. I am using black box x32 rotary a axis on y2 any information. Would be helpful thank you
Can I use the grbl mm post processor or the openbuild mm processor in aspire for rotary I understand vectric is not 4th axis just wrapping. My machine setup is X normal as well is z. y motors parallel in y rotary y2
The standard posts are for standard 2/2.5D/3D work, you can try (not sure if it will work), but most folks that use BlackBox with wrapping uses the Rotary Demon post (has a couple tweaks thats better than stock posts when working with wrapping). That said, that expects the more typical "wrapping" style machine where the rotary plugs into X or Y. Not A-axis. For A-axis output - would probably require editing post to output A (Replace Y-gcodes with A-gcodes) Not sure how mm/deg would play into that - perhaps best to ask in the Vectric forums about that (alternatives but not as elegant include flashing 3 Axes firmware, or use a proper 4 axes CAM instead of Vectric so its proper A-Axes gcode, like Fusion 360)
Is there a document/link someone can send me to that will give me more details about how to use a rotary axis with OB Blackbox, especially related to using Vcarve's rotary axis wrapping? I am looking at upgrading my antiquated CNC Sharks control hardware and would like to at least preserve the ability to add a rotary axis at some point. Thanks.
Is it a 3 axis controller where one is utilized as the rotary axis when in that mode? If so and the controller is GRBL based, the n the Rotary Demon post Processor for Vcarve will work. Read about it here. ROTARY DEMON CNC
