I just purchased this machine days before they announced they were closing. I can not get it running. I was wondering if there is anyone just west of Milwaukee, WI that would be interested in earning a few bucks to help get my machine going. I am going to try and get a new Black box since when I plugged it in the Blackbox started smoking. If interested please contact me at [private info removed for your own cyber safety] Thanks
Very Important. Recheck all wiring against docs:blackbox-x32:start [OpenBuilds Documentation] - only thing (well wiring mistakes and trying to use 3rd party PSUs or other incompatible 3rd party accesories) that typically cause smoke. They do go through a lengthy power on test in the factory. If the fault is not fixed, any replacement controller you connect will go up in smoke too
I only connected what I got from you guys. I was told by someone I talked to to watch the videos, I did not know there was any documentation available. I went through the video step by step over the coarse of about 12 hours. Not everything was very clear on the video though. I would like to purchase a new box but nobody is responding to my emails.
Checkout the inside of the lid of the box the BlackBox came in - as you fold it open to reveal the BlackBox
There is nothing on the Blackbox package. There is a QR code on the power supply. I am not an In any case, I am stuck with a brick. Do you have any more blackboxes I can purchase? or know where I can get a controller to run machine? Steve
Regardless, the damage is sadly already done, was just clarifying to you that the documentation is linked on the product, also on the BlackBox itself (URL is printed on the side), on the Product Page in the store, as well as the menu on the forum above. Video is thorough too, and correct, so not sure which wiring was done incorrectly - likely power supply - but still, do go to the documentation now, see what was done wrong by comparing, so future damage is avoided, thats the main point of the discussion around documentation now. Store shows its out of stock of BlackBoxes BlackBox Motion Control System X32 - and as you are aware busy closing down. So you'd have to look around for stock with resellers or a different brand of controller - but regardless - fix the wiring mistake first to avoid damage to whatever controller you replace it with.
Any suggestions on controllers? I would not know where to even start looking let alone what I am looking for? Steve
