Hate to -not- buy stuff here any more.... but seeing the notification, and checking in on parts. (out of stock) even some kits like: NEMA 17 Belt & Pinion Actuator But,...here is everyone else even getting their v-slot rails, belts, brackets/screws..etc..etc...etc from now then? Have only purchased from here, so have no clue on where to go in future? (kinda difficult for nerds like me, as I dont really use the parts for CNC machines like most other do.) I use the parts to build these (borrowed for a party, all custom made/electronics/coded by me) So if anyone can suggest/help point out where to get stuff like this still, its appreciated. thanks!
I am wondering the same. I've built two instruments in my lab based on the C-beam machine platform. The ant-backlash nuts are going to wear out at some point. My application is microdispensing liquid solutions. The C-beam machine is used as a motorized XYZ positioning system for my syringe pump. It is a bummer that Openbuilds is closing. There are similar low cost parts for sale on Amazon and Aliexpress, but I don't trust those suppliers. I've been looking at building a new XYZ positioning system using stuff from Misumi: https://us.misumi-ec.com/ and also PBC Linear: Linear Bearing, Shaft, Actuator & Rail Manufacturer | USA | PBC Linear There are no kits or designs, and some parts will require milling. The total cost will also be much, much greater than a C-beam machine.
I found pretty much everything on Amazon in the end. (just easier to dump all needed parts from -same- seller into the cart.. instead of snooping around. I tried to order what I could from here as well.. (but they dont really have anything/much in stock as far as parts, zero silver aluminum parts as well) More or less order some extra Solid V-wheels, and other rail mounting parts, t-nuts...etc.. (couldnt really find more to spend on here)
