I didn't see much discussion on here about this topic so I figured I would ask. What will happen to the machine firmware for the BlackBox and Interface after the shutdown? Will the source code be release as open source or will be need to seek own new controllers/firmware for our firmware. I know up until this point the machine and interface firmware has always been closed source.
See the details on - OpenBuilds is winding down and - Why are you going out of business? Lots of discussion, lots of links too Machine firmware's always been open: Standard grbl (8 bit for BlackBox 4X) and grblHAL (32 bit for BlackBox X32). Interface is closed source but binaries are always on Git if you need to reflash
Yup, I saw those posts but was most interested in the Interface firmware. I figured with OpenBuilds shutting down there would be no futher developerment of the firmware and would be great to see it released so other developers could help maintain the firmware long term. Is there plans to continue development even after OpenBuilds shuts down?
