Looking forward to reading about this build. You are certainly more bold than I when it comes to using Mach4 - perhaps in another year (or so) I may be ready for it. Tweakie.
Well thats the bed complete with precision vice. Unfortunately I dont like it so I have uploaded a video of how I made it showing all the mistakes and how I tried to cover them up. I have now ordered some plastic sheet to remake the top. V2 on its way....
I'm a big fan of your composite bed. two questions, how is hsm and what's the precision vise module? and thirdly hsm plots the tool path but still requires mach3/4? finally could you post a quick pick of your electronics wiring config?
Hsm seemed pretty scary at first the bed was the first thing I done with it, after a while you begin to find how easy it is to use. As I said v2 of the bed will be filmed and I could add in the inventor/hsm part. I have made a well at the front that a precision vise fits in there is a pic of the vise at he beginning, The electronics will be uploaded soon. DazTheGas
Once again thank you for another interesting video. It would be good to see it finished and cutting! Cheers Gray
Your build looks awesome and great job on the videos. What changes do you anticipate making to the bed?
Actually the bed is starting too grow on me now with the 2 extra side channels, but I got some 20mm HDPE i wanted to use. unfortunately it tends to warp near heat so dont ant to take chance, I`m just waiting for some other plastic thats 2mm so I can skin the bed with it. DazTheGas
Finally got some time away from work and started on the wiring, this is part 1 of the wiring as once again waiting for that slow boat to dock with some parts I need. Part 2 is in the process of being edited so will be up very soooooon DazTheGas
Thanks for the video. I always enjoy your delivery and practical advice. I await Part 2 with enthusiasm! Many Thanks Gray
Great video, Daz. I really need to build an enclosure for mine and get all the wires ran neatly. You've given me a lot of great ideas with your videos.
Well done @DazTheGas ! Beautiful Build Any chance on sharing the OpenBuilds sticker cut file you made, I would like to give it a go on cutting thin plastics. Thanks my friend and again great build. Mark
Found it in me archives, well needed it myself anyway for the new bed. Ive packed it in a zip with versions of EPS, AI, SVG and CDR hope it will be usefull as it was made for my graphtec plotter and has quite a few nodes for the cutter to penetrate the aluminium foil, will need the nodes reducing.. DazTheGas
This is great Daz, thank you for taking the time to grab it for me and for all the shareable formats. Mark
Well been away too long doing stuff on the software side of things, but now i`m back and loads off mods on the way for you. Daz
How did you wire up those Proximity sensors. I got a deal on a 10pack and want to use this style for my OX build. Now collecting the parts.
I am hoping to do an update of my machine over the weekend comin as there has been many changes, i am drafting up a schematic of the wiring to add to the downloads. Daz
A bit later than expected due to doing a lot on the programming side of things but finally got to do video today, unfortunately its just an update to where I am and can now get back on track.
Well done @DazTheGas! your build and videos great and helpful. Thank you for taking the time to share them
