A friend of mine suggested making a water cutting tray by gluing a foam spoiler board to the bottom and filling the water level above the carbon sheet this way all the dust would be captured.
Yes I have been told the same I have seen a guy on you tube doing the same thing. It's Def something I would love to be able to cut safely. Nothing looks nicer than carbon fiber in my eyes
If you can cut under water this is a great solution, a little tricky & costly for one off cuts! If you cannot cut under water then! It's your lungs you should worry about! Use a face mask and a fine filtered dust extractor. The finer the cuts the more hazardous it becomes. It is very dangerous and it cannot be removed once inside the body! You may want to also POLISH it also with Diamond paste, this will reduce micro-fractures. Good luck! I agree it is a very cool material. PS How come people like me links but not me!
I personally have never milled it and have no future plans to, but for those who do this is a good bit of info.
The lungs should eventually expel it within a few weeks, but as with any lung irritant you should reduce your exposure to zero if possible. Also some of the epoxies out there are quite nasty, not something you'd want inside your body. That being said, it shouldn't be as severe as someone exposed to conditions that can cause silicosis.
