Ok, hopefully the last question for a little while. So I have a 3 Wire Proximity switch that I want to use as a limit switch with my break out board. The switch has 3 colors of wires (blue, brown and black). Based on the enclosed picture how do I hook up the switch to the CNC board. Thanks Steven
@Steven Bloom I have not used that board but the price point is good. Did you find that one wire was not needed? Looking to hear if they can be wired as NO and NC
So the proximity switch is a 3 wire one. It has a black , blue and brown wire. The black wire goes to the signal. For example the Black(signal) can go to the X,Y or Z positive signal in the above picture. Then the Blue wire goes to where the ground is marked on the picture. Now the third wire, the Brown wire goes to positive part of the power supply. When the proximity switch is powered on it lights up. As soon as it gets closed to contacting something, the light turn off. So I would say its a normally closed circuit until it contacts something then it becomes open. Thanks Steven
Thanks for the response Steven, I have not used these yet so I appreciate the the learned knowledge from someone who has. Mark
