    Are you using any kind of exhaust system? I'm not sure I can see any, but I don't see any smoke either.

    I do have a exhaust system, I built this room as an addition to my office and put in a 7" fan just above the laser to draw out the fumes and smoke. There is actually quite a bit of smoke but the fan just above the laser does a good job of dispersing it before it collects on the lens. When its just line engraving it's not too bad but doing the fills it generates a good bit. I keep the door shut going into the laser room for safety reasons, the fan does a great job of keeping the room smoke free.

    Thanks Mark, I love using jigs for small production runs, makes it easy to just drop the text and graphics into a template and generate some toolpaths. I was having a issue with the laser shaking the table when lasing at 45ipm and above, problem solved. :)

    I believe its a 3 element and it's at about 3 inches for focus depth...

    1) Can you share more Pics or dxf or what else how you build your watercooling housing

    2)how about laser cutting
    is it possible for wood
    how strong can the wood be 4mm, 6mm or 10mm

    Not sure about the water cooling, I just air cool. With the 6 watt at full power it's possible to cut 4mm with about 20 passes. the problem is the divergence of the beam, the further down it cuts the wider and less powerful the beam becomes...

    20 passes ok
    Go with 20 passes every pass a step down at z axis or all on same high

    That was with the Z at at fixed height, i've been curious if I could move the Z down say .003 or so with each pass if that would help with the divergence issue.... Something to try....

    I was think about 0.01 or 0.05
    Or need i more power to cut wood in short time
    Like 40 or 60watt

    In the Video with 5.5 watt only one pass is needed

    Need i now only one pass or 20

    I'm not either really, I have my laser cranked up to 4.2 amps/5-6 watts output and i've tried it on 1/8 ply... On Aliexpress they state it's Linden wood composite, not sure what that is really or how easy it is to cut... Not alot of reviews on it either. My only issue would be the more amps you push to the diode the shorter the lifespan, could they be pushing this to the max for that video? Not sure....

    I was going by what the depth of cut per pass from the laser was, I may have to play with the feeds to try again, either way in my opinion cutting is hard on a laser diode. If you really need to cut alot at a decent speed I would look into the cheap "40 watt" chinese CO2 lasers on Ebay. For around $300 US is pretty reasonable.

    I assume you speaking of the chinese CO2 laser and I agree with that when comparing other CO2 lasers but it would get the job done faster and cheaper and most likely last quite a bit longer than a 5-6 watt laser diode pushed to the max. For $500.00 shipped to the US compared to $300 for the 40 watt (closer to 32) CO2, i'd go with the CO2. Both machines are chinese quality is probably about the same either way...

    Could you "just" step the head down an appropriate amount with every pass to keep the focus perfect ? Sounds too easy.

    IGNORE ME : I read the rest of the conversation and you are playing with stepping head down.

    However, would it be better to cut with a router/mill especially if an outside perimeter ? Keep the laser for engraving or very fine cuts ? It would have to be a too step process, like changing tools ?
