Hi, nice effort. One suggestion though: as you are using 2 plates on the side anyway: why not extend the shorter, and build up a complete box (close off all 4 sides) to strengthen the tall side Plate? Drill 2 holes into the second one to access your screws for the aluminum profiles... Doesn`t cost much, adds a lot of stability , which is neccessary with cnc. Well or at least tripple that long plate... btw i would loose some z (hight) - leverage always has to be counterd with beefing up that is why. good luck greets flo
Thx for the suggestions! I'm going with 2 plates because the of the witdth of the rail ( extructure + rail ) of +-7 cm, and never gave any thougth about raising it to the same lengt. but You planted an idea ! In the moment I building X and Y axis prototype and use it with a laser so Z axis isn't planned yet. I'm thinking about the heigth beacuse the z carriege is in planning, and already metting some issues. Best regards (Freundliche Gruesse aus Brasilien) Skape
Fala Josemar! Obrigado, Fica ligado que o projeto está andando. Ontem montei uma parte da eletronica e alguns motores, e foi possivel fazer os primeiros movimentos. Sou de Curitiba e você?
Hi! Thanks for the likes and Yesterday I made a big leap in the project. The first "steps". A part of the eletronics and the motors is in place, and we were able to start the motors.
do you have any dxf files of the plate, i am really interested in the way you are designing the machine, i have a bunch of the 80/20 lying around and the ox i put together just is not large enough and i do not want to tare it apart because it works great for the small stuff
Hi! I have the files that I sent for the cuting company ( dwg ) that I can send you, but if have time I would make some improvements from the lessons learned from building, ( f****** anoying to install and ajust the motors without access holes for the tools on the other plate. ) and then sent them to you.
