Hey There Can anyone tell me if it is possible to run wheels across an 80-20 Vslot bolted to a cBeam ? In the sketchup drawings provided by Openbuilds the lips of the slots look slightly different ? Also in sketchup the spacing looks slightly different as i go from one to the other hence the little gap between the spacer and the last wheel ? Cheers Martin
That's good news.. Is a little shim required in that last wheel ? According to sketchup there is not enough room for a washer, but there is still a little gap... Cheers for your help Martin
Don't put too much faith in the accuracy of the sketchup drawings. The only way to know for sure is to fit up actual pieces.
it depends if your using metric or imperial ie. 1/4" comes out as 6.35mm what in openbuild speak is a 6mm spacer and a shim look at the v-rail technical drawing for measurements C-beam™ | OpenBuilds V-Slot™ 40 x 40 | OpenBuilds
"SketchUp's internal accuracy is 1/1000 of an inch (0.025400mm). If two points are closer than this distance they are considered the be at the same position. But the tolerance can be compounded due to combinations of transformations. So when you're using dimensions around 1mm and less you're entering the twilight zone." A trick is to build at a larger scale then scale down lower. You can also take a look that the SolidWorks Resource Models and drawings here: SW Parts Library
