    Possible, yes. Whether it will be well suited to your needs is another issue. Belts stretch and this may have an impact on usability.

    As the wheel kits come with 1/4" standard spacers, most purchase the 1/4" eccentrics to match. If you go with the 6mm eccentrics you need to purchase matching 6mm standard spacers for the opposing wheels.

    Hi,
    Is there a practical limit to the length of the belts? I'd like an X-axis of 1000mm (or close to it). Is this too long for a 2mm belt? If I used a 3mm belt, that would be better I guess. But is this within usable length guidelines? I will mainly be using this for hotwiring foam (so almost zero effort required) but also to rout 3mm MDF.

    You should be more then fine with this @rtfm and if you need more tension you can add one of these Timing Belt Tension Torsion Spring to the belt to take up any extra slack that may be there.

    I'm having trouble finding a way to power my motor. can anyone tell me which wires are positive and which are negative?

    Hello Jesse,
    The motors are steppers motors and require a stepper motor driver board.
    There are a lot of drivers to choose from out there.
    Have a look at the
    xPRO Controller - All in one 3 axis motion controller
    TinyG - All in one 3 axis motion controller
    Gshield - a shield for the Arduino control board
    Sparkfun stepper divers - Single drivers for steppers

    I also saw there's a new bundle going to release "V-Slot™ Linear Actuator Bundle (Lead Screw)"
    Is this kind of lead screw linear actuator provides a higher load capacity? My estimated loading is just 3 kg.

    Also, can I replace Nema 23 stepper motor with other motors with higher torque easily?

    Yes lead screw driven actuators will be stronger then belt driven actuators.
    Yes you can as long at the mount accepts nema 23 you can add a higher torque nema 23 motor without a problem. One thing to keep in mind is the shaft size of 1/4"
    If your motors have a different size shaft you will need a flex coupling to mach that and the 8mm lead screw size. If the stepper shaft for your new motor is 1/4" then you will be fine with the flex coupling that comes with the bundle.

    With our stepper motors 1.8 degrees full steps are 200 steps for 1 revolution.
    Have a look at these easy to use steps per unit calculators in the Resources they make figuring out these things really easy.

    Ok, we tried 200 steps but it's still acting strangely. The motor isn't making a full revolution and it doesn't go the right direction sometimes, is this probably a problem with our connections?

    I believe that is an error in the drawing. The intent of the drawing is to show the various motor mounting possibilities/systems and it looks like as that was the focus, the belt attachments were not fully (and properly) drawn. The belt at the front would attach just like the one at the center.

    Hi,
    I am trying to lift a load of 40kgs which are supported by a pulley and a counterload(which is also 40kgs).
    So not much of a load in the motor as I have a load balancer however, I am not sure about the inertia.

    minimum lenght is around 2meters.( I guess I can extend it).

    Could you please let me know if this bundle would be suitable for me using the Nema23 motor ?

    Is it possible to customise the bundle kit before ordering?

    The only thing I found to change was the stepper motor(include/don;t include).

    And would this carry the load that I explained above when combined with the Nema23 motor?

    Do you recommend any driver for this motor?

    Do I need to upgrade the belt? Would this be strong for the load I am trying to lift?.

    And does it only work in x&y axis? Can I safely use it in Z axis?

    And what would be the minimum increment?

    Could you please confirm if the nema23 motor and the supplied belt with the kit would be sufficient to carry 40kg load?

    If you are wanting to use the Nema 23 motors you will need to upgrade to the gt3 belt/pulley because these pulleys have the needed 1/4" bore (nema23 stepper shaft size is 1/4")

    The honest answer is that we do not have this answer yet. At present we are having all of our actuators tested off site for a fair assessment so that we can provide all the necessary specifications for Builders.

    You could use the Planet CNC board and your driver of choice
    CNC USB controller Mk3/4 (4 axis)
    Planet CNC has some here - MotorDriver 2.5A - 32 - Planet CNC
    but there are many drivers out there you can wire to this board.
    These DQ542MA are very nice - 1pc DQ542MA CNC NEMA Hybrid Stepping Stepper Motor Driver 50V 4 2A 128 Microstep | eBay
    But it comes down to personal preference here.

    With the drivers, I will not be using it for a CNC machine. More like control(up,down) and the set length travel & return home using arduino.

    Any advice on a driver that I can use with arduino? There is just a lot of options out there which confuse me.

    How long would it take to ship to Australia?

    Really appreciate this site. Great work!

    You can also use the Arduino to control DQ542MA drivers as well.
