I have almost finished building my C-Beam, with just a few electrical bits to do on it. But the question i have is what cutter bits am i best off getting to get me started? The C-Beam is fitted with a Dewalt D26200 and the spec is: Power Input - 900 Watts Power Output - 620 Watt No Load Speed 16000-27000 rpm Collet Size 6-8 mm Max. Cutter Diameter 36 mm I would intend to be cutting everything from MDF to hard wood ply and alloy plate I just need a few bits to get me going and need to know the best place to get them from i'm in the UK. I'm no expert (new to CNC) but I also have a C-Beam but with a 400 watt brushless spindle. For wood I brought a 1/4 inch set of router bits from B&Q JCB 1/4" Shank Router Bit Set, 6 Pieces | Departments | DIY at B&Q For metal I brought the following http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00OPZL8JI?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00 I've cut up to 1/2 inch aluminium plate.
6mm shank, end mills are cheap and plentiful (0.5 - 6mm) if you want finer bits you have to drop down to 1/8 (3.175mm) collet endmills, engraving bits and v bits go right down to 0.02 mm ebay is your best bet unless you have the money to throw at top end endmills what go way over £100 each
