( I am going to keep posting updates as i go along. Scroll down if you want to see the latest additions ) I have made some progress on an enclosure for my CBeam / future OX type CnC router. I quickly discovered the need for an enclosure shortly after my foam "Hello World" CBeam machine test (in the living room).. So here it what i came up with. I sourced all of the parts from Lowes / Home Depot, except for the LED lighting. The unit is build on a heavy duty steel frame garage storage rack (72 x 48 X 24 ) which i had to expand to obtain the depth i was looking for. The expansion allowed me to stiffen up the frame using aluminum 1" x 1" square tubing. I used Optix acrylic sheets for the windows and doors. The front doors are solid! I originally wanted the doors mounted on rails, however opted against that option due to the space they would require when opened. I used "U notch" aluminum rails that interlocked tightly to create the door frames and mounted them on 30" continuous hinges. I then used clear silicon / adhesive to eliminate any potential vibration rattles etc. Just wanted to share some ideas and make a little contribution to the forum since i am a new here. If people are interested, i can include all the details of the build, however i am pretty sure anyone on these forums could figure out how make something like this based off the images. Lowes happens to carry a storage rack with a frame that has hidden shelf slots and is made of steel. That was the key.

Nope. Maybe if I hung some fake fish in it. lol. Sure beats a fish tank though. I plan on enclosing mine someday. I say it's money well spent.
Update! The enclosure works really well! After some MDF testing, i realized i would need a ventilation / suction system of some sort to help with the dust. I just got back from Home Depot and scored some early Black Friday specials (charmed the lady a bit ). I will be posting some new images tomorrow of my solution and other modifications i have been working on. I found the perfect part in the AC isle which happened to have a rubber grommet that fits my new shop vac line perfectly!
I saw some guy on YT use a furnace filter at the top. He set a cheap box fan on top of that. Seemed to work fairly well.
Alright so i made some serious progress over the weekend. Added: - Heavy Duty Wheels with Locks -Keyboard / Tool Tray on Heavy Duty Ball Bearing Guides - New Compressor - Vacuum System Whats next: - Switch / Button Panel - Frame Mounted Monitor - Tool Draw It is coming along nicely!
Here is the latest work. I am modifying a surge protector to give each outlet it's own switch. The surge protector will be hidden under the keyboard shelf and the switches will be mounted in a gray plastic electrical box. By giving each outlet a switch, it will allow me to control things while keeping the enclosure universal to changes. I will be able to switch things or add things whenever without modifying plugs etc. I will just need to change labels on the switch box. I would like to make a nice power box, however i want to keep the unit as compact as possible. I have not found a place to mount a large power box that will give me convenient access to the switches.
Finally got kicked out of the living room, so I decided to make some noise in the garage! Made some serious progress on the vacuum system. Couldn't find the things i needed for my dust shoe, so I decided to do it the hard way! Here is a sneak peak.
