I was researching Trochoidal milling and came across this video by the Guy, who made the ESTLcam program. This video shows how to generate code for a curved surface, and then carve it. I'm probably discovering this program quite late, but I am really impressed by this small, useful, and above all, Cheap Program. Check it out on YouTube Gray
Agree - with how powerful this CAM package is and $50 great value.. I just downloaded the ESTLcam demo yesterday - and see that is supports thread milling, and 3D contours, V carve, etc.. also looks like ESTLCam is starting to directly support Arduino (GRBL) hardware. It would be awesome if ESTLcam and TinyG support could be integrated! the xbox controller for a pendent and direct control of the machine would be fantastic. lots of info from ESTLcam developer in this thread: Estlcam machine controller Thanks go to Florian Bauereisen for the recommendation of ESTLcam.
Hi, im using Estl cam since a while now and just loving it. Quite easy to use. especially if only a few pieces to be done or for trochiodal milling aluminium. Bigger jobs though i still prefere cambam which is very powerfull as well - but lacks trochiodal milling. flo
