Last night I tried to hook up a solid state relay to the spindle enable pins. When an M3 is sent the LED turns on on the ssr. I then wired up an outlet to plug in my vacuum and router. The vacuum turns on just fine but the router doesn't start. It just sort of clicks and the leds on the router flicker. I checked my wiring and polarity and get the same thing. I know it should work since the vacuum turns on. They are both motors so I'm not sure what the problem is.

Had it in the title, but it's a dewalt 611. I think it does have soft start. I was under the impression the relay was just on/off. Would a mechanical relay work then?

Indeed, the DeWalt 611 has a soft-start and a mechanical relay will work.
