    Another open source CAD software. I have used it before and it works closer to solidworks than sketchup.

    I'm switching to FreeCAD. It looks like BlenderCAD is dead and FreeCAD is all that and a bag 'o chips too.

    I have tried it repeatedly it looks powerful but for the life of me I cant get it to reliably snap to anything particularly the center of circles

    I am using version .13 for Windows 7 64 bit, I find that it quite unstable and hangs/crashes a lot. Maybe it is stable on another OS?

    Pretty solid in Lubuntu. Which is a lighter desktop than Ubuntu. Which is what I've been using for many a year on a simple laptop albeit with a 24" screen as well as the 15" on the laptop. Works a treat!
