Hello @hosa200, I can't find the topics, mostly about the OpenBuilds Ox, in this forum to show you how to keep the rails clean before a wheel rolls over it, but I can tell you how it's done. They cut a door brush into pieces and place them before the wheels: I hope this helps. -Ronald
I would clean it with WD40 and a cloth, that brush I was talking about are made to put on the inside down on a door. The brush isn't sold all over planet earth so you might never have seen it before and probably not sold locally. It can be cut into peaces and placed before the wheels with an bracket. Still you need to do maintenance like you now have to do on your machine. What is that sticky stuff on the V-Slot? -Ronald
Careful using any cleaner on the rails if you are using the Xtreme v wheels, they recomend using only a silicon based lubricant. SO make sure any cleaner you have used it rinsed off or it will degrade the Xtreme wheels.
Hand Cleaner, who would have thought of that. I can imagine that it's not sold all over the world so what would be the active component in the cleaner? This will save my day every time v-Slot / C-beam comes in ! -Ronald

Sounds similar to what we used to have in the UK, which was Jiff. However they changed the name, I think it said something rude in anther language. We can still get it, but I can't remember its name. It was a good cleaner, but maybe too course for aluminium. Gray
Yes, Jif, brand by Unilever (the darn Dutch again ). Brand was registered in some countries so they had to change it. I can get it here too in Mexico under some name just not Jif. I believe it's a bit different than the hand cleaner, more like an abrasive powder in a cream. The Jif brand by Procter & Gamble is used for peanut butter in some countries. Jif cleaner is now also named Cif and Vim. Still, it's different Just got back from lunch so now it's time to look trough those PDF files . Edit: I see that PUMICE is indeed a stone used in other abrasive cleaners, but not in Jif (my bad). So there is no way to get deeper scratches out, and like Mark said it's just to make the wheels run smooth again. The cleaning component left must be the "rubbing alcohol" as the water only cleans a bit. So NEODOL alcohols and ethoxylates are an example of those cleaning or rubbing alcohols. "Jif" has: Sodium Carbonate 497-19-8 <10% Anionic Surfactant 25155-30-0 <10% Nonionic Surfactant 68439-46-3 <10% 1,2-Benziothiazol-3(2H)-one 2634-33-5 <1% Fluorescer (Jif Regular Only) - <1% Fragrance Ingredients - <1% (like we care if it smell good, lol)
